Kindergarten Is So Sweet!!

We had a great first day...Monday and Tuesday!!  Tomorrow all 19 of my sweet Kinders will come and we will begin making memories as a class family.  I forget every year how exhausting it is to get started but all of the smiles and hugs are worth every minute of it!

Enjoying my summer...YES!!  Yesterday was my 24th wedding anniversary...I don't know how this is possible but I am BLESSED!!  Ofcourse, I spend lots of time pinning things on Pinterest for the upcoming school year!  I can't help myself :)

We leave for the beach in 10 days!! Yay :)

Sweet Summertime

I can't believe how fast this year flew by!  We made lots of memories and had so much fun learning new things.  It is always bittersweet to send my kinders off to first grade but I know they will do great things.

2015/2016 was a great year!!

Jump Rope For Heart

Our school raised money for the American Heart Association through Jump rope for Heart.  We set a goal of $9000.00.  Our kiddos worked hard getting donations and we passed our goal BIG TIME!!

The top fundraisers got to silly string our principal, Mrs. Jernigan.  She is amazing and such a trooper!  We love her and she is the BEST!!

And finally, our AMAZING check for over $15,000.00.  I would say we busted our goal.  We ramked 2nd in the state of Arkansas in fundraising for Jump Rope for Heart.  That is 2nd out of ALL school in Arkansas.  YAY, DPS!!!

We have been learning about insects!  This is one of my favorite units.  My kinders always love it and we have so much fun and it is so academically engaging.  I hope you enjoy these photos!

SPRING BREAK

It's here!!  Spring break time...a time for teachers to relax and get recharged for the remaining 7-8 weeks of school.  My family will be taking a mini vacation to Hot Springs for a couple of days and then my hubby will be going on a trout fishing trip with the men and boys from our church.  I will enjoy the quiet time while he is out doing one of the things that he loves!  We will end our week by celebrating Easter with our family.  

Stephen Fite Concert FUN!!!

Another successful year with Stephen Fite.  The kids LOVED the concert and they had fun dancing and singing along with Stephen!

Stephen is a great guy!  He is wonderful with kids and has lots of songs that encourage learning and ofcourse making learning FUN!!!

What an EXCITING end to Dr. Seuss Week

Our theme today was, Oh The Pets You Can Get.  The kiddos brought their favorite stuffed animal from home.  We had 2 guest readers today, Coach Ross and Ms. Lorie.  Coach Ross brought several of his pets to school with him and we all got to enjoy them!  SNAKES...I'm NOT a snake fan but I held them and they were not too scary and my kinders LOVED them...well most of them, there were a few not about them!

Green Eggs and Ham Day

Well today was a hit with my kinders!  Green eggs and ham are not my favorite because I DO NOT like the smell of scrambled eggs.  Sooo, I put a spin on it and made vanilla pudding with green food coloring and added a vanilla wafer.

Looks like an egg to me!!?!!??

Most of my kinders loved it!

BUT, some were not a fan!!

It was a fun filled rhyming day in Kinderland!

Wacky Wednesday

We had so much fun today!  Our guest reader was our State Representative, Mary Bentley.  She did an amazing job reading "There Is A Wocket In My Pocket".  We definitely dressed wacky!!

Tuesday...Fox in Socks Day!  Our guest reader was Mrs. Lorrie Miller.  I had the privilege of doing my student teaching under her years ago and I still believe she is one of the BEST out there!!  Thank you for coming to read to my kinder kiddos.

100th day of school = S U C C E S S

We celebrated the 100th Day of School with many fun activities.  We counted pennies, fuzzy balls, bubble gum, etc.  We jumped for 100 seconds, wrote our name as many times as we could in 100 seconds, wrote about what we would buy with $100.  We had lots of cute 100th day projects and we even had a 100th day chocolate cake.  And, ofcourse, we made our snack bags with 10 different yummy items!  We had a BUSY but FUN day!!  Making memories that will last a lifetime!!  Love my Kinders <3

A little Kindergarten math FUN!!!

Who says that math in Kindergarten can't be fun??  For some reason the boys are the only ones I got pictures of...I think it might be because the girls were in charge!!!  We were finishing up an unit on "The Mitten" and we did a little mitten measurement to see how tall we are with non standard units.  The kids had so much fun!!
